(Cedar Rapids, IA) –Cedar Rapids Mayor Ron Corbett is pleased to announce that the U.S. Cellular Center arena’s grand re-opening act will be Grammy Award Winning country music trio Lady Antebellum. Lady Antebellum’s concert will rock the U.S. Cellular Center on Saturday, June 1. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, March 8 at 10:00 a.m. and can be purchased at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena (1100 Rockford Rd SW), all Ticketmaster outlets, charge by phone by calling 1-800-745-3000 or by visiting www.ticketmaster.com.

Lady Antebellum will launch the re-opening of the U.S. Cellular Center arena which has been extensively updated and remodeled since its’ closing in 2011.

“I am excited that we will host artists of this caliber when the new U.S. Cellular Center arena opens in June,” said Mayor Ron Corbett. “This is just the beginning of the success we will experience with our brand new convention center.”

Along with the arena itself, the Cedar Rapids Convention Complex includes a new exhibit hall, ballrooms, meeting rooms and pre-function space, plus a state of the art Double Tree by Hilton Hotel. The Complex is projected to attract more than 375,000 visitors annually, resulting in $22.8 million of direct spending per year. The total economic impact of the new convention center is estimated to be more than $34 million per year.

Lady Antebellum recently announced the release of their fourth studio album, GOLDEN, will be coming out on May 7. Lady A’s previous three studio albums have paved the way for GOLDEN, which follows over 11 million album sales,  six career number one hits and seven Grammy awards. In 2012 alone, more than one million fans in 11 countries welcomed the ACM and CMA award-winning trio on their headlining tour.
